Itinerary

15 night itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
Welcome to Aspen. No matter what time your flight lands, the team at The Gant will transfer you in their private vans to your accommodation.
This day is designed to be easy going after your long journey to get to Aspen. Take the time to relax and settle into your accommodation.

Day 2: Welcome and Orientation
We start today by getting all guests together for a meet and greet. You’ll receive your lift pass and learn more about the days to come. This is also the time to get any rental equipment or have your own gear checked by the team at Aspen Sports. In the afternoon we’ll head to Aspen Mountain for a cruisy ‘find your ski legs’  warm up. This is a gentle warm up on Aspen Mountain for anyone interested in making a few turns.

Day 3: Skiing Buttermilk
Today we’ll head to Buttermilk, the perfect mountain to get properly warmed up and start preparing for the big days ahead. Lunch is at The Cliffhouse restaurant where the Mongolian Grill is a favourite.

Day 4: Skiing Aspen Highlands
Today it’s Aspen Highlands! Be challenged on this fantastic mountain – the locals favourite – then take a well-earned break for lunch at the Merry-Go-Round restaurant.

Day 5: Skiing Aspen Mountain
Nicknamed Ajax, today we’ll meet at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain. Grab a free coffee for the ride up and take in the views. Explore all that Ajax has to offer and meet for lunch at Sundeck restaurant. If there’s time in the afternoon, a pit stop at Bonnies is a must for the very special apple strudel.

Day 6: Free day
Today we recommend you have a free day. Take a day off-snow and explore the town, go shopping, or visit one or more of the cafes, restaurants or bars. If you’d prefer to ski, choose your mountain and away you go. Often guests will get together on the free days to ski or enjoy the town.

Day 7: Skiing Snowmass
Today we’ll all meet at the end of the Snowmass Mall at Snowmass. This mountain is big. So big you could fit all three of Aspen’s other mountains into it. Not surprisingly then, today should be a day of exploring. A great way to tackle this mountain is to begin on the Elk Camp side then slowly work your way across. By the time you reach the other side, it’s lunchtime – and where better to eat than Sam’s Smokehouse.

Day 8: Skiing Aspen Highlands
Today we’ll head back to Aspen Highlands and take on the terrain we missed last time. And conditions permitting, why not have a crack at hiking the famous Highland Bowl. Take the Loge Peak chairlift, then the snowcat as high as it’ll go. Then it’s time for a 30-40 minute hike to the summit of Highland Peak. This experience is one not to miss because what goes up must come down… and it’s a long way down! The skiing from the top of the Highland Bowl is the stuff of legend.

Day 9: Skiing Snowmass
Today you’re back at Snowmass and will be trying to ski all the terrain you didn’t get to visit last time.
Take on “Long Shot” for a mid-morning adventure or challenge yourself a little more with “Powderhorn”. Lunch today is at Elk Camp. At the end of the ski day maybe some après at Venga Venga.

Day 10: Skiing Aspen Mountain
Back on Ajax and by now you’ve got the routine sorted. Free coffee when meeting the team at the gondola and up you go. Lunch is again at the Sundeck restaurant and yep, après on the way home is pretty hard to pass up – it’s Aspen after all and you now have two free days.

Day 11: Free Day
Welcome to your weekend. Today take it easy and treat yourself to a wander around town or get back up there and take on your favourite mountain.

Day 12: Free Day
Your second day off and you’ll be feeling good. If you skied yesterday, take today off. If you took yesterday off, make a few turns today. We advise at least one full rest day during this two-day block. You’ve got a big 3 days coming up.

Day 13: Skiing Snowmass
It’s the final Snowmass ski day. Meet your ski buddies as usual at the end of the Snowmass Mall and get skiing! Lunch today will be at Gwyn’s High Alpine. Finish the day by skiing your favourite Snowmass runs.

Day 14: Skiing Aspen Mountain
A final day of riding the gondola and taking on all the glades, steeps or groomers that Aspen Mountain has to offer. One last lunch at the Sundeck with the incredible views overlooking the Highland Bowl.

Day 15: Skiing Highlands
Meet the team at the base of Highlands and decide. One last hike up the bowl? Or do you want to challenge yourself in Deep Temerity? Or maybe just winding down with some top to bottom runs on the never-ending groomers? The choice is yours.

Day 16: Departure Day
Check-out time is 10am. The team at The Gant will transfer you to the airport to meet your flight. If you’re on a later flight we’ll help you store your bags until you’re ready to leave.
