Our Lake Tahoe Ski Tour gives you access to some of the best and most varied terrain in North America across a 16-night itinerary.
Your first six nights are based at Northstar California Resort, known for its perfectly groomed runs, fun tree skiing, and relaxed mountain feel. It is the ideal place to settle in and get your ski legs back.
During this time, you will also have the option to ski at Palisades Tahoe for one or two days. This adds a completely different dimension, with bigger terrain, steeper lines, and a more challenging alpine environment.
The final ten nights are based at Heavenly Mountain Resort, where wide open cruising runs meet some of the best lake views anywhere in the world. The terrain here suits all levels, with long descents and plenty of variety.
While staying at Heavenly, you will also have the opportunity to explore Kirkwood Mountain Resort, known for its steeper terrain and outstanding snow quality, along with Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort for a more relaxed day on the mountain.
With multiple resorts and a longer itinerary, this Ski Lake Tahoe experience delivers a level of variety that few ski holidays can match.

Accommodation on this tour has been carefully designed to match the flow of the trip.
At Northstar California Resort, you will stay in deluxe two or three bedroom residences. These offer space, comfort, and a true ski-in ski-out lifestyle, making it easy to relax and settle into the rhythm of the trip.
At Heavenly, you will move into a premium suite at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe, located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. Each suite includes a separate living area, a luxurious bathroom, and either a king bed or two queen beds.
You also have access to an indoor heated pool, hot tub, fitness centre, and multiple dining and bar options. This creates a comfortable and social environment for the second half of the tour.
A fully cooked buffet breakfast is included each morning during your stay at Margaritaville. It is the perfect way to start the day before heading up the mountain. No rushing around, no organising extra meals. Just a relaxed start with the group before another day on snow.

At Northstar, the atmosphere is relaxed and alpine, with fire pits, casual bars, and a strong village feel where the group naturally comes together.

You can ski every day, or mix things up depending on how you’re feeling. Sleep in, explore the village, take a walk by the lake, or simply relax at the resort.
With two different locations and a longer itinerary, there is space to reset and enjoy the experience at your own pace.

Epic Pass
Northstar California Resort, Heavenly Mountain Resort, and Kirkwood Mountain Resort are all part of the Epic Pass network.
If you already hold a valid Australian Epic Pass, you are largely covered for skiing across the main resorts featured on this Ski Lake Tahoe Tour. However, it is important to note that Saturdays are blackout dates on the Australian Epic Pass and additional lift tickets may be required if you choose to ski on those days.
Lift tickets are not included in the advertised tour price, as many guests already travel with an Epic Pass. If you do not currently hold a pass, or also plan to ski at Palisades Tahoe or Sierra-at-Tahoe during the tour, contact us and we will help you work through the best and most cost effective ticket options for your trip.

Once checked into our beautiful alpine residences, there’s time to unwind, explore the village, grab a coffee or simply relax and take in the crisp Sierra mountain air after a long travel day.
Depending on arrival times, we we’ll come together for relaxed welcome drinks and dinner at one of Northstar’s local village restaurants. It is a great opportunity to meet the group, settle into the rhythm of the tour and start building excitement for the incredible Ski Lake Tahoe experience ahead.

Northstar’s perfectly maintained grooming and relaxed terrain make it ideal for long enjoyable ski days without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Guests can ski hard from first chair through to the afternoon or simply enjoy a more relaxed pace and soak up the alpine atmosphere. Northstar or Palisades Tahoe
Today guests have the flexibility to either enjoy another relaxed ski day at Northstar California Resort or return to Palisades Tahoe for a completely different mountain experience. For those wanting cruisy groomers, a relaxed village atmosphere and enjoyable all mountain skiing, Northstar continues to deliver everything that makes it such a popular part of our Ski Lake Tahoe itinerary.
Alternatively, stronger skiers may choose to head back to Palisades Tahoe to explore more of its legendary terrain, steeper lines and big mountain feel. With two very different resorts available, the day offers fantastic flexibility depending on your energy levels, confidence and what type of skiing experience you feel like most.

Today we leave Northstar California Resort and make our way south to South Lake Tahoe on what is one of the most spectacular drives in the Sierra Nevada. Winding along the shores of Lake Tahoe, the journey delivers incredible lake views, snow covered mountain scenery and countless photo opportunities along the way. It is far more than just a transfer day and becomes a genuine part of the overall Lake Tahoe experience.
Along the way, there’s time to stop, take in the scenery and simply enjoy one of the most beautiful alpine regions in North America. The contrast between the relaxed mountain village atmosphere of Northstar and the vibrant energy of South Lake Tahoe also adds a completely new feel to the second half of the tour.

With another full day up our sleeve, we head back up the mountain to hunt for untouched lines, little-known tree runs, and maybe even some groomers you’ve somehow missed.
In the afternoon, we’ll wrap up with a relaxed après at a tucked-away local favourite – no crowds, just great vibes and a few well-earned drinks. By this stage of the tour, everyone has usually settled into a great rhythm both on and off the mountain. It’s these relaxed afternoons, shared ski days and local experiences that often become some of the most memorable parts of the entire Ski Lake Tahoe trip.

Pricing for this Ski Lake Tahoe Tour is based on the use of three bedroom and four bedroom condominium residences during the Northstar section of the itinerary. These larger residences provide the best overall value, comfort and shared mountain experience for the group.
In some situations, guests may specifically request a two bedroom residence, or overall tour numbers may require the use of additional two bedroom accommodation configurations at Northstar California Resort. Should this occur, an additional accommodation supplement will apply due to the increased per guest accommodation costs associated with smaller luxury residences.
The additional cost per guest is:

For the first six nights, guests stay slopeside at Northstar California Resort in a selection of deluxe condominium residences including Catamount, Great Bear, Iron Horse and Big Horn, all professionally managed by East West Hospitality. These high quality alpine residences deliver a genuine mountain living experience and are the perfect base to begin your Ski Lake Tahoe adventure.
Each condo is fully self contained and features spacious open plan living areas, full kitchens, comfortable lounge spaces, multiple bedrooms and quality mountain style furnishings throughout. This setup works perfectly for groups, couples and friends travelling together, while also allowing guests the flexibility to relax and enjoy quieter downtime away from the slopes when needed.
One of the major highlights of staying at Northstar is the location. All accommodation is situated just steps from the snow, creating a seamless ski in ski out experience. There is no long commute, no early morning transport arrangements and no wasted time. You simply walk out the door and straight into the village atmosphere and onto the mountain.
Northstar itself has a relaxed and welcoming feel that guests consistently love. The village offers fire pits, cafés, casual bars, restaurants and boutique shopping, creating a fantastic social atmosphere after skiing each day. For the final ten nights, the tour moves south to South Lake Tahoe where guests stay in premium suites at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe, located right in the heart of town near the Heavenly Gondola. This second half of the trip introduces a completely different atmosphere, with a more energetic après scene, easy access to restaurants and bars, and incredible lake views surrounding the area.
Each suite at Margaritaville includes a separate living area, bathroom, and either a king bed or two twin beds, creating a spacious and comfortable base after long days on the mountain. Guests also have access to an indoor heated pool, hot tub, fitness centre, and multiple dining and bar options throughout the resort.
A fully cooked buffet breakfast is included each morning during your stay at Margaritaville, making it easy to start the day in a relaxed and social way before heading up the mountain with the group. Transport & Getting Around
Because our Ski Lake Tahoe Tour is built around multiple resorts and locations, guests will need access to a private vehicle throughout the trip, including transfers between Northstar, Heavenly, Palisades Tahoe, Kirkwood, Sierra-at-Tahoe and, for many guests, Reno Airport.
After extensive research and many conversations with previous travellers, we believe the best and most cost effective option is for guests to pool together in groups of four or five and share a rental vehicle for the duration of the tour. This not only keeps costs surprisingly affordable, but also adds to the overall experience, with plenty of fun road trips between resorts and shared flexibility throughout the trip.
Rental vehicles are ideally collected on arrival at Reno Airport and returned there at the completion of the tour. In most cases, one or two people within each group are happy to act as designated drivers depending on comfort and experience driving in snow conditions.
When shared between four or five guests, the vehicle rental component generally becomes very reasonable and offers far more flexibility and convenience than relying on transfers, shuttles, or multiple transport services throughout the tour.
