How we improve your skiing
The success of our Aspen Ski Improvement Programs, for more than 20 years, comes from the trust and connection we build with our guests. It goes without saying you’ll improve your skiing with us. We have a 20-year track record to back that up. You’ll also ski more miles and more terrain than you can possibly imagine. But, long before you arrive in Aspen, you’ve already responded to our pre-program survey. It’s our first step in learning about you. The type of skier you are and the type you want to become. The terrain you love to ski and the terrain you find challenging. Important insights into what you want from your valuable ski time with us. Long before you’ve even jumped on a plane to get here, we’ve started planning. For you.
Less is more = Ski Improvement
We also hold true to the “less is more” philosophy when it comes to improving your skiing. This means we won’t give you ten things each day to work on. That’s way too confusing and it makes learning hard. So we’ll likely give you just one focus each day, maybe two. Then mileage, mileage and feedback. Practice, more mileage, video and more feedback. On uncrowded slopes where you can be proactive with every turn you make. Proactive and not reactive. It’s hard to improve your skiing when you’re trying to avoid people and obstacles. Waiting in lift lines doesn’t help either because you lose momentum. Momentum and flow with the learning process. So here’s another promise. You’ll never wait in lift lines with us. It’s not the Aspen Snowmass way.
Guests are divided into small groups based on ability, speed and daring and will ski with our instructors for 5 hours each day. We provide as much ski improvement as you want with as much guiding/miles as you want. Video analysis sessions are also included.
We use a variety of perfectly located unit and hotel-style accommodation for our 7-night programs. Contact us to discuss the best option for you.
This is something we’ve mastered over 23 years of living and skiing in Aspen. Our après events regularly kick-in once the ski day is over. They are designed to bring people together and to create an enjoyable social environment.
Our 7-night programs include one full free day. This gives you the opportunity to rest tired muscles or to explore Aspen as you wish. 4.5 on-snow instructional ski days are included on this program (23 hours in total). But with your 10-day lift ticket, you can ski every day if you wish! See our itinerary for a detailed breakdown of each day.
1. Five hours per day for 4.5 full days = 23 hours of focused development on your skiing. Guaranteed groups of 6 people or less. Extremely experienced and qualified Aspen instructors who know this sport better than they know their parents!
2. Working together in small groups helps everyone improve. While one-on-one instruction is great, the benefits of being in a small group and working to improve your own technical ability with others is a fun and very successful way of reaching that next level. People learn a lot about their own skiing through watching others working on specific skills and listening to how they can improve. It’s like getting a little bag of bonus tips that you can practise along the way.
3.Really knowing Aspen, the terrain, and where to ski depending on the conditions is gold. Our Aspen instructors know what it takes to ski big mountains but more importantly, they know what it takes to develop skiers of all abilities across all types of terrain and conditions. Knowing how to technically improve someones skiing is only half the battle. And mindset is everything. It’s above the shoulders where much of the challenge to reaching that next level is locked away. And we are very skilled at harnessing and unlocking the mind game.
4. The combined terrain of Aspen’s four mountains gives us an unfair advantage. Combined with the right advice and plenty of mileage, you skiing has no option but to improve. We are very good at knowing when to push you, switch focus or pull it back a notch. Our team have built their careers developing skiers just like you.
5. Humour makes the world go round and let’s face it, skiing is meant to be fun. And when it’s fun you learn. Laughter and camaraderie are big components of all our trips and programs. If you’ve been on a Ski Aspen Tour before, or you’ve crossed paths with us on your travels, you know what we’re about.

Day 1: Arrival Day
Welcome to Aspen. No matter what time your flight lands, our team will be at the airport to meet and greet you. You’ll then be transferred in our private cars to your accommodation. This day is designed to be easy going after your long journey to get to Aspen. Take the time to relax and settle into your accommodation.
Day 2: Welcome and Orientation
We start today by getting all guests together for a meet and greet. You’ll receive your lift pass and learn more about the days to come. This is also the time to get any rental equipment or have your own gear checked by the team at Aspen Sports. In the afternoon we’ll hit Aspen Mountain for a nice little warm-up. After skiing, join our team for a welcome drink and relaxing après session at the Ajax Tavern.
Day 3: Skiing Buttermilk Mountain
Today you’ll meet your team of instructors at the base of Buttermilk Mountain. You’ll spend the day skiing Buttermilk, getting properly warmed up and preparing for the big days ahead. Our on-snow groups are very flexible. Initially divided by ability, speed and daring – you’ll have the opportunity to swap groups on a daily basis to push yourself or take it easy. Group sizes are capped at 6 guests per instructor. Lunch is at The Cliffhouse restaurant where the Mongolian Grill is a favourite.
Day 4: Skiing Aspen Highlands
Today you’ll meet your instructors at the base of Aspen Highlands. Be challenged on this fantastic mountain – the locals favourite – then take a well-earned break for lunch at the Merry-Go-Round restaurant. You’ll finish the ski day with our traditional après event hosted by the Ski Aspen team at the base of the mountain – food and drinks supplied.
Day 5: Free day
Today is a day for you. Take a day off-snow and explore the town, go shopping, or visit one or more of the cafes, restaurants or bars. If you’d prefer to ski, choose your mountain and away you go. Often guests will get together on the free days to ski or enjoy the town.
Day 6: Skiing Snowmass
Today you’ll meet your instructors on-snow at the end of the Snowmass Mall at Snowmass. This mountain is big. So big you could fit all three of Aspen’s other mountains into it. Not surprisingly then, today is a solid day of exploring and learning. Generally, you’ll start skiing on the Elk Camp side of Snowmass then slowly work your way across. By the time you reach the other side, it’s lunchtime – and where better to eat than Sam’s Smokehouse. The staff here even save us tables so Ski Aspen guests will never need to hunt for seats.
Day 7: Skiing Aspen Mountain
Nicknamed Ajax, today you’ll meet your instructors at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain. Grab a free coffee for the ride up and take in the views. Explore all that Ajax has to offer and meet for lunch at The Sundeck restaurant. We’ll have a final night dinner arranged for tonight to celebrate with everyone on your trip. Prior to that, be sure to join our team when you finish skiing in one of the best après venues in town! Ajax Tavern, The Little Nell and Schlomo’s are all on your way home!
Day 8: Departure Day
Check-out time is 10 am and sadly your Aspen adventure for this season has come to an end. Our team will arrange your airport transfer with plenty of time to make your flight. If you’re not departing until later in the day, we’ll help you store your bags until you’re ready to leave.
