The Aspen Colorado ski season for the northern hemisphere winter of 2026 delivered something a little different. Across much of the USA, it was a drier than usual year. But Aspen Snowmass stood out. Consistent grooming, smart snowmaking and a few well timed storms meant it offered some of the best skiing conditions in Colorado.
For Ski Aspen, this season was built around two fantastic tours, great people, and real progression on snow.

A Season Shaped by Conditions
While many US resorts struggled with limited snowfall, Aspen Snowmass held its ground.
Across all four mountains:
- Aspen Mountain
- Aspen Highlands
- Snowmass
- Buttermilk
…the skiing remained consistently strong.
Snowmaking and grooming were exceptional, particularly on Snowmass where long, flowing runs stayed in great shape. Aspen Highlands delivered some standout days, especially for those chasing steeper terrain and pockets of fresh snow when it did arrive.
It reinforced what many of our guests already know. When the snow is variable across the US, Aspen is often the safest bet.

Our Ski Aspen Colorado 2026 Tours
Tour 1: February 7 to February 22
Our first tour kicked off in early February and immediately found its rhythm.
Conditions were firm but very skiable, with beautifully groomed runs allowing guests to build confidence quickly. As always, our on-snow groups gelled fast, and by the second week we were humming along.
Highlights included:
- Bluebird days across Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain, Snowmass and Aspen Highlands
- Strong ski improvement through Carv and Women’s Edge Programs
- A brilliant social atmosphere off the mountain with plenty of live music
Tour 2: February 22 to March 09
The second tour brought slightly more snow and a spring like feel at times.
This is often a sweet spot in the Aspen Colorado ski season. Longer days and plenty of quality skiing.
Guests on this tour benefited from:
- Softer snow for skill development
- Longer daylight hours
- A great mix of cruisy laps and more challenging terrain
CARV Ski Improvement Programs in Aspen Colorado
A standout feature of both tours was our integration of CARV ski improvement programs.
Using CARV sensors fitted to ski boots, guests received real time feedback on their technique. Edge angles, pressure control, balance and timing were all measured and translated into clear, actionable insights.

The impact was immediate.
Instead of guessing what to change, guests could see and feel exactly what was happening in each turn.
Across both tours we saw:
- Solid skill progression
- Increased confidence on steeper terrain
- More consistent carving technique
- Plenty of competitive banter amongst groups
If you are serious about improving your skiing, CARV is well worth exploring. There’s plenty of information available online about how it works and the results it can deliver.
