Buttermilk Mountain trail map
Buttermilk Mountain is the go-to slope for families, beginners, and freestyle enthusiasts. With a gentle vertical drop and wide, rolling terrain, it’s built for confidence-building and fun. The mountain is known for its beginner-friendly layout, with a high percentage of green and blue runs, but it also features two top-tier terrain parks, including a world-class superpipe. Divided into three distinct zones – West Buttermilk for beginners, Main Buttermilk, and Tiehack for more advanced skiers – the mountain offers smooth progression and variety. It’s a perfect environment for learning, improving, or just enjoying a relaxed day on the snow.
More than just a learner’s paradise, Buttermilk’s vibrant energy comes from its role as the longtime host of the Winter X Games and a hub for uphill skiing and special events. The newly renovated base lodge makes everything seamless with rentals, lessons, tickets and food all in one place. On-mountain dining at The Cliffhouse offers incredible views and warm, welcoming vibes, while the base area remains friendly and uncrowded. Buttermilk is a mountain that makes everyone feel at home – whether you’re just starting out or coming back to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and playful terrain.
