Ski Aspen at Hotham 2017 – The Wrap

September 4, 2017

Ski Aspen at Hotham 2017 was certainly blessed by the snow and weather gods this year as conditions couldn’t have been more perfect. I was reminded by several people how lucky we were with the weather last year also so that’s two years in a row our snow dance has worked!

From first to last lift I think it’s fair to say we had a ball. With Attila, Rob, Kate and Dave leading the groups, our guests were in great hands on-snow. Then we managed to surprise everyone with Jonathan Ballou (PSIA National Alpine Team & Director of Operations – Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen Snowmass), getting out on the mountain with everyone for a few turns.

As usual, our après activities were a hit and made for some great social times when the skiing was done. And for the second year in a row we descended on Joyce Brockoff Hut for a “FREE FOR ALL” Saturday afternoon on-snow party with lunch, drinks and the always smooth DJ Eddy pumping out the tunes.

There are plenty of people we need to thank for making the weekend possible so here goes…

Kristi Kavanaugh, Casey Leach and Jonathan Ballou from The Aspen Skiing Company – for coming all this way and supporting us to the max as always.

From Mt Hotham – Belinda Trembath, Melinda Mustar, Len Dobell, Nigel Mills, DJ Eddy, Ronnie Boardman, Sabrina Bagley, Alyson Lamb, Glenn Watson, Karl Gray, Simon Brand, Mick King, Lucy Carew at the Snowbird, Denise at One Tree Sports, Gavin at Zirky’s, Jake at Chill Bar and of course our instructors Attila, Kate, Rob and Dave! If I missed anyone I sincerely apologise.

And of course a special mention to our generous sponsors Brown Brothers and Furphy for helping to make our Saturday Brockoff Hut party the huge success it was.

We’re already planning for 2018 so be sure to keep the last weekend in August on your snow calendar free!
